About The Game
The Funguys Kingdom is role-playing and simulation social hub, in which you will be involved in farming, growing plants, and bringing life back to the local village within a kingdom. You will play as the character of Mia. C. Liam — the granddaughter of Don Liam, who was the previous caretaker of the farm and kingdom’s village. Along the way you’ll meet a lovable cast, called The Funguys, who will guide you on your journey in exchange for treats from your farm, and for completing certain tasks for them.
After entering the experience for the first time and leaving behind the world you once knew, your new role begins. You will need to find, plant and care for all the fruits and vegetables. On top of that, you will be helping the villagers to heal their lands and restore balance to the kingdom. You will need to provide villagers with food from the farm, discover and cook new recipes, explore a deep mine for lost treasure, and get rid of the plague of bugs that is threatening the kingdom and its crops.
Now, that sounds like a lot of things to do, doesn’t it? But the creator of the experience assures us that the game is meant to be one where the player is not rushed into completing quests. You can take your time and explore The Funguys Kingdom, take in the terrain, and meet all of the characters within it. The Funguys Kingdom is about the journey rather than the destination.

About The Creator
The Funguys Kingdom, supported and funded by The Sandbox, was designed by James Schay, who is perhaps better known in The Sandbox community as Tuschay. Here’s what he said:
My name is James Schay from Tuschay Studios. I’m originally from Argentina, but am now based out of Seattle, WA. I’ve been a concept artist, illustrator, and graphic designer for 15 years working in various industries from tech to entertainment. I created The Funguys in 2018 as a cartoon series of illustrations about seven mushroom-like creatures that live together in a town within a mushroom forest.
When I found The Sandbox I was amazed at the possibility of not only being able to tell my story with The Funguys in video game form, but also letting the audience have a direct hand in how they experience the story, allowing them to become a part of it.
I find the Game Maker and Voxedit to be amazing outlets for my artwork and an incredible set of tools, especially when paired together. I’m still amazed that I can run around and play a game that I’ve built from the ground up, from the blocks that are used, to the logic behind the player interactions. It’s changed what I think is now possible from individual developers and I’m incredibly excited to see the things that are built within The Sandbox as a result.
